Design and Construction of a Pulse Width Modulated Voltage fed Inverter System for Uninterruptible Power Supply.

Chemically powered DC/AC inverters are widely used for industrial and commercial applications at power levels ranging from 0.1 kVA to 10,000 kVA. The most common inverter today is the pulse width modulated voltage source inverter (PWM-VSI), a device which has almost become a commodity product in the low and mid-power range. The applications for inverters include a plethora of products including adjustable speed motor drives, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, power line conditioners, 400 hertz systems, induction heating supplies, active filters, and a host of new products emerging in the market. As the applications of these inverters has proliferated, issues and problems associated with these devices have become increasingly visible. These include power line interactions and equipment susceptibility, electromagnetic interference (EMI), voltage reflections on long cables, control bandwidth, efficiency, acoustic noise, size and cost. This project therefore seeks to develop a bilateral converter that can minimise the above short comings.

GSM Web Information System is design primarily to register orders for GSM handsets and to choose Service Provider with which any member of Clients' Staff desire to connect with. The web page has facilities through a Database for processing orders, order notification, a rating sheet for different handsets and Providers, a guest book and others conveniences integrated with it to facilitate easy of use and utimately to satisfy the Customers.

The SITP Database management system was commisiones with the following objectives:

To deisgn and implement a database management system for SITP with the following specicification/methodology:

  • Make use of entity-relationship modelling techniques and normalisation.

  • Implement conceptual and logical database designs.

  • Design and construct relational databases.

  • Write SQL statements.

  • Construct Windows based Applications that interact with relational databases.

Simulation of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV)

The project aims to design and implement an application, which allows a user to simulate the motion of a remotely operated vehicle, particularly underneath water. This finds good use for instance when carrying out repairs underneath the ocean or say an offshore platform (rig), at locations and conditions, unsafe for even the most daring of personnel.

The specific objectives of this project include:

    • To appreciate software creation procedures and methodology.

    • To understand steps required in successfully implementing a medium scale software project and producing all necessary documentation.

    • To communicate, organise and function as members of a software development team.

    • To design a working package -XPLORER 2.0

 

Design of a Computer Laboratory

My team were drawn from the company resources pool to carry out a study of the in relation to Project management process in preparation for the projecta actualisation.

The team is required to report to manament on the following areas:

  • HSE requirements and Community issues that needs to be considered for the project

  • Project organisation and work breakdown structure and planning.

  • Procument and Contract related issues e.g. tendering, criteria for choosing contracters.

  • Identification and management of potential risks.

  • Quality assurance.

  • Funding and Budgeting.

Design and Implememtation of a Local Area Network

The Project aims to design and implement Local area Network, which is to support 60 users of remotely operated work station including client-server arrangement particular attention is given to future expansions which might involve heterogeneous network topologies and or architecture. This Project finds good use for instance in the oil and gas idustries where reliable IT support is sorted after.

The Objectives of this Project include:

  • To design and implement and enterprise Local Area Network.

  • To Produce detailed documentation on the different network facilities and potentials present within the client's environment.

  • To monitor and enhance Client's entire System Performance.
